Superior Spider-Man is a character appearing in Marvel Comics, first appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man #698 (November 2012). He is not Peter Parker, but rather Doctor Otto Octavius (Doctor Octopus) who has swapped minds with Spider-Man, trapping Parker's consciousness and taking over his body.
Octavius, using Parker's body and powers, initially intends to be a superior hero, more effective and ruthless than Spider-Man ever was. This involves a darker, more aggressive approach to crimefighting, though he retains some of Parker's heroic instincts.
While striving to be "superior", Octavius' actions are often morally questionable. He is more brutal with villains and engages in behaviors Parker never would, highlighting the difference between possessing the power of Spider-Man and understanding the responsibility that comes with it. This creates conflict as Parker's lingering consciousness attempts to regain control and challenge Octavius' actions.
